We had a marvelous time at the First American Christmas party. The party was held at the beautiful and historic Park Plaza Warwick Hotel. The Warwick has regularly been voted one of Houston's Best Luxury Hotels. It has sumptuous but exceptionally tasteful surroundings. The hotel foyer has Aubusson tapestry from the 1700s and wood panels from a French chateau dating back to the turn of the 19th century.
First American was offering a great discount for those of us who wanted to secure a room. Rick and I decided to stay the night.
The party was held in the Grand Ballroom that boasts one of the most awe-inspiring views around, comparable (as Bob Hope once noted) to anything you'd find in Paris. The Ballroom's surrounding floor-to-ceiling glass gave us enthralling scenes of the downtown skyline to the north and Hermann Park to the south.
Over three hundred attended. Upon arrival guests had their picture taken by a professional photographer. The food, desserts, drinks, and ambience were magnificent. All cocktails were provided. The band performed throughout the evening… everything from rock, to jazz, to country. Dancing and revelry was non-stop. At one point the band persuaded all the ladies to come up and join `em on stage. After that is was the guys turn. Of course as the night wore on, the carousing got progressively.. well.. wilder!
Some of our partying coworkers included our manager Lou and her husband Steve. Jennifer and Shane, Liz, Nicole, Michael, Christina & James, and Marietta and Glen. A great time was had by all!
Because we were having just so much fun, it seems only a relatively few pictures were taken. At least by us anyway!
